Host of The Prison Officer Podcast (www.theprisonofficer.com), Mike Cantrell has been in corrections for over 29 years. He has recently retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons as the Chief of the Office of Emergency Preparedness. A Master Instructor for Pepperball, he also certifications as an instructor for firearms, less lethal, disturbance control and breaching. He is considered a leading expert in the area of correctional breaching. During his career, he has led special response, disturbance control and canine teams.

He is a correctional consultant specializing in the use of force and physical security. He is a writer, content creator and speaker on leadership and crisis management. Michael is the author of The Prison Officer Podcast Job Guide and his articles can be seen regularly on CorrectionOne.com,

Gary York

Gary York, is a writer, Youtuber, and author. Gary’s career in Corrections and Law Enforcement spans decades. He served in the United States Army as an MP from 1978 to 1987. Gary then began a career with the Department of Corrections as a correctional officer and was eventually promoted to senior prison inspector. After leaving the state prison system Gary went on to complete 12 years with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. Gary fully retired as a Master Deputy Bailiff with a total of more than 28 years of service.

Gary has a master’s degree in criminal justice from Florida Metropolitan University and is certified as a public manager by Florida State University. Subject Matter Expert Int Assoc Chiefs Police
